Alder Family Pictures | Paradise, Utah Photographer
My mother-in-law has been begging us to do some family pictures since before I was even married into the family. The last time my in-laws have gotten family pictures taken, my husband was 10, and he’s now 27. So it was definitely due time for some pictures!
We all met out in Paradise, Utah because it was a convenient location for us! These pictures were during rodeo weekend, which if you’re not from Preston, Idaho is a crazy phenomenon that is hard to understand. It’s Preston’s biggest, favorite holiday! Preston is home to the original night rodeo, and starting that tradition across the west! All of my in-laws make it up for this weekend, so we squished us all in for a quick family photo shoot.
I shot most of these pictures on a tri-pod, obviously, since I was in a lot of them! It was a bit of a challenge. We tried to have my father-in-law take some of the pictures when I was in the shot and he wasn’t, but as a farmer, his deep love of farming must have subconsciously influenced his picture-taking because all of the tractors in the background were in focus and the people weren’t! I guess he’d better stick to his day job haha!
It was a beautiful night for family pictures, and we all work pink and blue to coordinate. I recommended we stay as neutral in pattern as possible, and the result was a good blend of outfits. I’m so grateful to have married into this fun family, and we’ll need some new pictures soon since we’ve added three members to the family since these were taken!
