Christmas Family Minis | Logan, Utah Family Photographer
This year I decided to do Christmas Mini Sessions! I’ve never done Christmas Minis before, but they might be my favorite type of marathon photo session. Everyone comes all dolled up and ready to shine with the holiday spirit! I don’t usually offer Minis anyway, but I was thinking on it for a long time because I wanted a way to give back to the community, and then this solution presented itself: What if I offered my time and gave all my profits from my Christmas Minis session to a family in need? Once I had the idea, I ran with it.
Tons of generous people signed up and I was so excited to give back. I grew up in a very low-income household where gifts on Christmas were not a given, and often never received. We had no expectations for Christmas, but one year someone spent Christmas Eve completely covering our porch with gifts while we slept. We woke up to the most incredible surprise — they’d even include a small mason jar full of coins specifically for me and my brother and we spent all morning counting out those precious surprise pennies! We had such a fun time reveling in the spirit of Christmas and the generosity of our Secret Santa. So, after I’d finished and sent off all my photos from my minis, I was able to gather up all that money and send it off to a couple of families in Northern Utah. It was a humbling experience, and I’ll probably keep up that tradition.
